Neighboring Kamaole I, this is also a wonderfully family and activity friendly beach.
Kamaole Beach Park II
Kamaole Beach Park II, often referred to as Kam II, is one of three adjacent beach parks collectively known as the Kamaole Beach Parks, located in Kihei in South Maui. Kam II is a popular destination for both locals and visitors, known for its picturesque setting, gentle waves, and a range of activities for beachgoers.
Kam II is a less than 5 minute drive south from Auntie Snorkel Kihei. It’s easily accessible and conveniently located near various accommodations, restaurants, and shops.
Parking and Access
There is no dedicated parking lot for Kam II, so look for parallel parking alongside South Kihei Road. If no spots are available, you can try the parking lot for Kam III just a little farther south, and walk back to Kam II.
You’ll see the large sign for Kamaole Beach Park II by the restrooms, and plenty of easy access to the beach from there.
***Paid Parking Coming Soon.*** In early summer 2026, Maui County plans to launch the Park Maui program, which will institute a fee for non-Hawaii resident parking at all of the Kamaole Beach Parks, including the street parking close to Kamaole II.
Parking revenue will be reinvested into transportation, infrastructure, and community improvements.
Learn more about the program and sign up for direct updates here.

Facilities and Amenities
The beach park offers various amenities, including lifeguards, restrooms, showers, and picnic facilities, making it a convenient spot for a full day at the beach.
Kam II is particularly family-friendly due to its safe swimming conditions and amenities catering to visitors with children.
What to Bring
Bring the whole family and everything you want for a full beach day! Auntie recommends snorkeling gear, floatation, umbrellas, beach chairs, and games. Rent a stand-up paddle board for even more exploration and fun.
Snorkeling and Surf

While Kam II itself does not have extensive coral formations, the southern end of the beach connects to Kam III Beach, which provides better snorkeling opportunities. You can swim or walk to Kam III to explore the underwater world.
On calm mornings, stand-up paddle boarding is a great option at Kam II. The long stretch of all 3 Kamaole beaches make for a beautiful paddle. Just be aware that the wind can pick up strongly and quickly from late morning through the day, so the earlier you go out the better.
There can be some elevated surf with summer south swells. This will impede snorkeling but can sometimes make for fun boogie boarding. Just be sure to exercise plenty of caution, and if in doubt, don’t go out!

Environment and Seasonal Variation
Kam II Beach features soft, golden sand and clear, turquoise waters. It offers a peaceful setting with a grassy area, shade trees, and picnic tables, providing a suitable spot for picnicking, relaxation, and beachfront activities.
Kam II is calm and beautiful most mornings year round. It is common for the wind to become strong and gusty from the middle of the day, so this beach is best early.
Responsible tourism practices, such as proper disposal of trash and the use of reef-safe sunscreen, can contribute to the long-term conservation of this stunning coastal environment on Maui.
It’s important for visitors to respect the local rules and regulations, including not touching or damaging the coral, not collecting or harassing marine life, and not disturbing the natural habitat.
Remember to respect the natural beauty and environment of Kamaole Beach Park II by leaving no trace and following any posted rules and regulations. Kam II is part of a trio of beaches that are favored for their accessibility, natural beauty, and relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to snorkel, paddle, swim, picnic, or witness a stunning sunset, Kam II provides a picturesque and enjoyable beach experience on Maui’s southwest coast.
About
Auntie Snorkel
Auntie Snorkel shop has been serving Maui’s fun seekers since 1985. We're the original South Maui Snorkel Shop. When I bought the shop 10 years ago from Auntie, we decided to keep the name. The name "Auntie" is a term of respect here in Hawaii. I'm living my dream. I get to meet awesome people from all over the world and share with them my love and knowledge of this magical island that I get to call home. We know all the spots. I have lived here since 2001. We're the true definition of a family owned and operated shop. I answer the phones and work the shop along with my family. When you shop with us you're supporting my ohana and for that I thank you!! Why go anywhere else? We're the friendliest, fastest, cheapest and our location is the most epic! Mahalo and Aloha”. ~Mark Noble (Owner & Maui Fun Expert)
Great place to grab rentals for the beach. Jake and Art provided what we needed based off what we said we were hoping to do at the beach. They also gave us a map and showed us the best places to ride waves, see turtles and see the best sunset.

Great place to get your beach gear. Staff is cheerful and friendly. It's very easy to reserve your stuff online and quickly pick it up at the store. Dave helped us to find the best floaties for the kids and as a freebie we got a boogie board, which was fun to try.
