Why You’ll Love Our GoPro Rentals in Kihei
⭐ Turtle Reef Two Minutes From Our Shop. Bring a Camera.
The reef at Kamaole Beach Park I sits directly across the street from our Kihei shop and hosts dozens of Hawaiian green sea turtles. Snorkeling there without a GoPro means leaving with a story. Snorkeling there with a GoPro Hero 10 means leaving with 4K footage and 23MP photos, waterproof to 100 feet, that will outlast the memory by decades.
⭐ Two Buttons. No Experience Needed.
GoPros exist for exactly this situation: someone who wants great footage without learning to use a camera. There are two buttons. One switches between photo and video mode. The other takes the shot or starts and stops recording. Our staff walk you through the full operation in a few minutes at pickup. From that point on, you just point it at whatever is beautiful. And on Maui, that is everything.
⭐ Waterproof to 100 Feet in Its Included Housing
Every rental includes the underwater housing with handle and wrist tether, rated to 100 feet. Take it snorkeling at Kamaole Beach Park I or Ulua Beach, on a Molokini boat tour, surfing, paddle boarding, or simply swimming. The camera stays dry and the footage stays sharp. The wrist tether keeps it with you if you let go.
⭐ Wireless Transfer Directly to Your Phone
The free GoPro Quik app for iOS and Android lets you transfer photos and videos wirelessly to your phone without any cables. Share to Instagram, text your friends, or back everything up to the cloud right from the beach. No computer required.
⭐ 20% Off When You Book Online
Booking ahead through auntiesnorkel.com saves you 20% on the standard GoPro rental rate. Reserve in advance and your camera will be ready at pickup.
⭐ Pick Up at Either Our Kihei or Lahaina Shop
GoPro rentals are available for pickup and return at either our Kihei store or our Lahaina store, regardless of which shop you reserved from. You can treat both locations like one big shop!

GoPro Rental Care and Responsibility
⚠️ Renters are responsible for the camera and all included accessories during the rental period. Loss or damage beyond normal wear may result in additional charges.
⚠️ Always attach the wrist tether before entering the water. A GoPro that slips off a hand in moving water is very difficult to recover.
⚠️ Rinse the housing with fresh water after ocean use. Salt left on the housing and seals accelerates wear.
⚠️ Do not open the housing in or near the water. The waterproof seal requires the housing to remain closed when wet.
⚠️ Return the camera, housing, cable, and carrying case. The SD card may be purchased for $14.95 at return if you wish to keep it rather than transfer your files.
Pro Tips from Your Fun Specialists
- Charge the camera fully the night before your biggest day. Battery life on a GoPro Hero 10 is solid but a full charge before a long snorkel session or all-day adventure gives you the most flexibility.
- Download the free GoPro app before pickup. Having it installed means you can transfer footage to your phone the moment you get out of the water.
- Use burst mode or video for fast-moving subjects like fish and breaking waves. Time lapse mode works beautifully for sunsets at Kamaole Beach, the drive along the Road to Hana, or looking over the crater at Haleakala.
- For underwater shots, get close to your subject. Water reduces clarity at distance, and the wide-angle lens on a GoPro rewards proximity. A turtle two feet away produces dramatically better footage than one ten feet away.
- Ask our staff which snorkel spots are producing the best turtle sightings on the day you pick up. A good location tip plus a GoPro is the combination that produces the footage guests show people for years.
- Book online before your trip to lock in the 20% discount and guarantee your camera is ready at pickup.
FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions About GoPro Rentals in Kihei
Do I need any photography experience to use a GoPro?
None at all. The GoPro Hero 10 has two buttons. One switches between photo and video mode. The other takes the shot or starts and stops recording. Our staff walk you through both at pickup. From that point, you simply point it at what you want to capture and press the button.
Is the GoPro actually waterproof?
Yes. The included housing is rated waterproof to 100 feet. You can take it snorkeling, surfing, paddleboarding, or swimming without any concern. Always keep the housing closed and attach the wrist tether before entering the water.
How do I get my photos and videos off the camera?
Two ways. The free GoPro app for iOS and Android transfers photos and videos wirelessly to your phone – no cables needed. Alternatively, connect the included charging cable to a computer to transfer files directly. The 32GB SD card included with the rental holds around 6,000 photos or roughly 100 minutes of HD video.
Can I keep the SD card?
Yes. The 32GB SD card is available to purchase for $14.95 upon return. If you want to keep all your footage on the card rather than transferring it, just let us know at return.
Can I bring the GoPro on a boat tour?
Absolutely! The GoPro is ideal for boat tours. Molokini Crater snorkel tours in particular offer exceptional underwater visibility that produces stunning footage. Check with your tour operator if you plan to use a mount on the boat itself.
Can I pick up at one shop and return to the other?
Yes, absolutely. You may pick up and return at either our Kihei or Lahaina shop, regardless of which location you reserved from. Treat both locations like one big shop.
What is the cancellation policy?
Auntie Snorkel offers free cancellation anytime prior to pickup. No deadline, no fees.

More About Capturing Maui With a GoPro
The Moments That Are Worth Bringing Home
Maui offers a memorable kind of experience: a Hawaiian green sea turtle drifting past at arm’s length at Kamaole Beach Park, a humpback whale breaching offshore during whale season, a waterfall crashing into a jungle pool on the Road to Hana, a perfect wave rolling in at The Cove. A GoPro is the right tool for capturing these moments because it requires no setup, survives any environment, and produces footage that holds up on any screen.
Underwater Footage Changes What You See
There is a significant difference between remembering an underwater encounter and having footage of it. When you watch the video back, you notice things you did not consciously register in the moment: the specific markings on a turtle’s shell, the exact color of a parrotfish, the way light filters through the water over the Kamaole reef. It also lets you share the experience with people who were not there in a way that a description simply cannot.
