As if that is not enough, they will also include a second snorkel spot at reef known for abundant Hawaiian Green Sea turtles and underwater lava arches. What to expect:
You will check-in at the Ocean Store in Maalaea Harbor by the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium parking lot, which is located in the center of Maui and is the most central harbor on the island.
The crew provides breakfast a spread for the boat ride from Maalaea Harbor out to Molokini including muffins, cinnamon rolls, donuts, coffee, juice, and fresh fruit.
From mid-November to mid-April you can watch Humpback Whales while you enjoy your breakfast and coffee.
On the way to Molokini Crater, the crew will come around with top quality snorkel gear and fins for everyone. If you have your own gear, or if you rented gear from us you can bring it along with you. The crew also offers snorkel instruction to new snorkelers and those wanting a bit of a refresher.
When the boat approaches Molokini Crater get your camera ready because you will be absolutely stunned by the beauty. Molokini Crater is the best snorkel site in all of the Hawaiian Islands and has been a marine preserve conservation zone since the 1970’s. The water clarity is consistently a mind-boggling 150 feet. The water is warm, protected and calm as the shape of the crater naturally blocks currents and waves. You can see schools of colorful fish and huge reef formations as you peer into the water before you even get off the boat.
You will have over an hour to explore one of the top snorkel sites on earth in a safe and welcoming environment. Pacific Whale Foundation puts two crew members on the water to act as life guards while you snorkel. After you are done snorkeling you will love the warm freshwater showers.
The crew prepares a beautiful lunch spread as the boat takes you to the second snorkel site where you will swim with the amazing Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles! Turtle Arches is home to dozens of Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles. They have interacted with thousands of visitors and are not scared of snorkelers. Turtle Arches is located in the Makena area of Maui and is a stunning snorkeling site for coral and abundant fish but the star of the show here are the huge friendly Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles.
Get your camera ready because I don’t care who you are, it is really cool to get a selfie snorkeling with a Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle!
This is one of my favorite companies on Maui. They have an amazingly enthusiastic and knowledgeable crew. On my most recent trip, I saw an eel and an octopus! ~Mark Noble, Owner
*All snorkel spots are visited weather permitting. If Molokini snorkeling conditions are less than ideal, Coral Gardens off the west side of Maui is usually the Captain’s next choice.
