Hyatt Regency’s Drums of the Pacific Luau

The Hyatt Ka’anapali Luau, also known as the Drums of the Pacific Luau, is a cultural and historical event in Maui, providing guests with a great opportunity to learn about Hawaii’s rich ancient and contemporary legacy. This gorgeous sunset luau begins the festivities with a powerful drum beat, Polynesian dances, and an exciting fire-knife presentation. It’s an enchanted evening full of beautiful scenery, remarkable entertainment, and delicious Polynesian cuisine.

In ancient times, there was no written language in this region and throughout the presentation, you’ll gain an understanding of how the graceful movements of hula dancers illustrate centuries of Hawaiian stories, myths, legends, and mysteries.

Learn how Hawaiian culture has influenced the world, by bringing together stories from Tahiti, Samoa, New Zealand, the Cook Islands, and the beautiful islands of the South Pacific. The Hyatt Maui Luau is the best resort luau in Ka’anapali, with a Sunset Terrace providing the backdrop for an incredible night.

With recent upgrades to the luau grounds, the Drums of the Pacific has created a spacious seating arrangement that is comfortable and offers amazing views so you won’t miss a moment of the show.

With an abundance of cultural activities, food, and dancing, the The Hyatt Regency Hotel Drums of the Pacific Luau offers an exciting journey through the history of the culture of Hawaii that the entire family can enjoy.

In fact, this luau event in Maui is the only one that allows the free admittance of one child per family (with two adult tickets purchased). The Hyatt Regency Hotel presents the Drums of the Pacific Luau, an exciting journey through the history of the culture of Hawaii.

Drums of the Pacific Luau Standard Seating

Standard seating is reserved for tables behind the 2nd row of seating (3rd row and back). The venue offers an elevated stage, so no matter where guests are there are unobstructed views, with a portion of the standard seating area elevated.

Drums of the Pacific Luau VIP Seating

VIP seating includes skipping the line at check-in, receiving a kukui nut lei, seating closer to the stage, a souvenir photo and gift, and early access to the delicious Polynesian buffet. Due to high demand, VIP seating is limited. We recommend that those interested in the VIP seating book as much in advance as possible.

The Drums of the Pacific Luau is our favorite West Side Luau. If you are staying on the Ka’anapali/Lahaina side of the island this is the best luau available. From the moment you arrive at the Hyatt Regency Ka’anapali you will understand why we love this luau so much. The resort itself is breathtaking with endless views of Lanai and Molokai and Ka’anapali Beach. The luau grounds are on the water’s edge and you can see the colors of the sunset as you enjoy the show under our beautiful Maui Skies.

The sound of the conch shell and the beating of the drums, signal the start of one of Hawaii’s most exciting Lu’aus. “Drums of the Pacific” Polynesian Spectacular takes you on a journey through the islands of Polynesia, complete with a traditional I’mu ceremony and the exotic flavors of native Hawaiian cuisine. Featuring authentic dances and music of the old Hawaii, Tahiti, the Tuamotus, Rarotonga, New Zealand, Tonga, and a thrilling 3-man Samoan fire knife finale.

Going to a luau is one of our favorite ways to spend an evening with friends when they come to visit the island of Maui. The Drums of the Pacific Luau at the Hyatt Recency in Ka’anapali is just absolutely amazing. If you are staying on the West side of Maui we recommend this luau. Why do we like this luau so much? It comes down to spectacular location, impeccable food quality and preparation, delicious top shelf bar, five-star service, powerful authentic Polynesian Revue, and a breathtaking fire knife dance finale.

One of the biggest reasons we love Luaus it’s a great way to bring our children and family to dinner. Just that experience in and of itself is part of the Hawaiian culture. This is a true feast and show experience and what a great way to entertain and feed everyone at once. My kids have gone to many luaus, and they enjoy them every time. The experience is always memorable and entertaining for everyone, even the pickiest of eaters. Families with small kids love it because, if the kiddos don’t like what they got from the buffet they can go back and get something else, if they spill it’s generally grass under their feet, if they are being loud the show drowns it out. To boot there’re tons of fun things to eat and drink and the show keeps everybody entertained.  We also love the fact that everybody can get dressed up and get a great photo of the family with a perfect Maui sunset backdrop. Great keepsake!
