You should try surfing. Auntie Snorkel has the best surfboard rentals on Maui. It is surprisingly easy to learn to longboard here on Maui. The Cove surf break is about one half of a mile from our shop. It is world-renowned as an ideal spot to learn how to surf. Why is The Cove such an amazing spot to learn to surf? The water at Cove Park is only about waist deep nearly 100 yards from shore. The bottom is nearly completely flat and gradually gets shallower as you approach the shore. With a little practice, you will find yourself riding knee to waist high waves for nearly one hundred yards. You will feel like a Hawaiian Surf Legend when you catch your first wave. The Cove is home to our surf schools and the folks surfing there are happy and low key. The Cove is a legendary surf spot here in Hawaii for locals as well as beginners. The waves are so consistent and roll so smoothly that the area draws Maui visitors as well as local surfers from all over the island looking for small, consistent, long rideable waves.
